Commenting on the bespoke joinery Edsons provided, Anna Lloyd Jones, Creative Director stated, “Working with Edsons was such an amazing experience. We really loved the intricacy of their initial drawings as it meant that nothing was left open to mis-interpretation and everything ran smoothly. So often before, we have received drawings from joinery companies that have resulted in differences in what we thought we were getting and what actually arrived which has caused us problems and project delays. This was definitely not the case with Edsons.
The line drawings and 3D drawings which Edsons produce are so incredibly detailed. The minutest detail is shown, even down to the exact location of fixings. This means there are no unexpected surprises and there no room for errors. I am certain this attention to detail is a major contributing factor in ensuring projects run on time. The quality of craftmanship is also fantastic. We’ve designed some really intricate units with them, involving leather panels, brass trims, antique mirrors and stone – all materials were joined perfectly and exactly as expected, if not better. Edsons really are the haute couture of joinery specialists. There were some very minor snags dealt with quickly and professionally. I would have no hesitation using them again or recommending them to our future clients.”
In September 2017, Edsons was appointed to carry out all interior joinery works on a five-bedroom luxury residence located in Hyde Park London.
Working alongside ALJ Studio, a London based boutique interior design studio that creates refined, curated interior spaces within the high-end residential and commercial markets.
ALJ Studio appointed Edsons to manufacture joinery for all rooms excluding the kitchen which was not part of the scope of works. Edsons were provided interior design concepts by ALJ Studio and from these, line drawings and 3D conceptual images of how the joinery would look within each room were provided.
This included all bookcases and shelving units within the main living room. These featured leather and brass inserts. Also manufactured were bespoke living room doors and two full length mirrored doors leading into the kitchen featuring intricate carvings.
In the bathroom, master bedroom and dressing room areas, Edsons manufactured wardrobes and other fitted cabinetry. Each had its own unique details and finish
As a family residence with lots of children and pets, the joinery had to look beautiful and stylish as well as be functional and hardwearing. A number of years on, Edsons recently had feedback from the client to say our woodwork is living up to the demands of a busy and active family and still looks as fantastic as it did when first installed. This is no better testament to the durability and quality craftsmanship Edsons place in ensuring the finished woodwork effects are truly fit for purpose.
